It’s Christmas and I am spending the festive season at home in Dorset with family. With no signs of snow and a breeze that isn’t too bitter this Christmas has turned out to be rather delightful!

So when it comes to country or seaside walks (on the path, as it would be my Dubarrys and a pair of jeans with a chunky knit) with the possibility of stopping for a afternoon tea or a quick coffee, the question always is what to wear!

This winter I have opted for lots of effortless outfits that are transitional from outdoors to indoors. Jumper dresses have always been a big part of my wardrobe and this season I have enjoyed teaming them with cute ankle boots or slender knee length boots (with a heel of course!). Depending on the weather I usually finish the look with a lightweight trench or heavy aviator along with my daily rings and a statement earring. Pretty easy!

Button gang

Not sure what it is about this trend but I’m all for it and can see it in my wardrobe for many years to come as simplistic staples worked in with future outfits to come!

There are various button trends, however, I’m only interested in the simplistic chic look. Clean and sand washed silks, textured cottons and linens formed into feminine shapes with interesting pattern cutting techniques... I actually have seen some on-trend button garments that have exaggerated sleeves, rounded shoulders and flared wrist cuffs and even high waisted Bell bottoms (seen below, I may do a bell bottom post... what do you think?) which only adds to this beautiful trend

So here’s a round up my top picks for this key Spring Summer trend and basically a good insight into my wish list (as I love them allllll)

1. Staud  2. A Piedi  3. Topshop 4. Nanushka 5. Jason Wu 6. Karen Walker 7. Mango 8. Kenneth Jay Lane

Transitional Tailoring

I love a good bit of tailoring and have always admired the relaxed blazer look which can be created so easily with an old band tee or oversized shirt, loose slacks... or even just a pair of good jeans! A good blazer is the key effortless piece to smoothly transition anyone from season to season, especially now in this high summer period they work perfectly with those light weight summery garments.

Typically I am trying to wear all my summer pieces before summer is truly dead and gone! White shirts, white tees, white and blue striped wrap blouses, white bardot dresses, light floral button up tea dresses, white swing dresses, white jeans, anything light or white i'm wearing it!... But with that being said the colour white isn't a great colour for me due to wine mishaps and general make up boo boos, however a bit of white on white styling has to be done to see out the summer in style!
