Winter walks
Lifestyle blogger london.png

It’s Christmas and I am spending the festive season at home in Dorset with family. With no signs of snow and a breeze that isn’t too bitter this Christmas has turned out to be rather delightful!

So when it comes to country or seaside walks (on the path, as it would be my Dubarrys and a pair of jeans with a chunky knit) with the possibility of stopping for a afternoon tea or a quick coffee, the question always is what to wear!

This winter I have opted for lots of effortless outfits that are transitional from outdoors to indoors. Jumper dresses have always been a big part of my wardrobe and this season I have enjoyed teaming them with cute ankle boots or slender knee length boots (with a heel of course!). Depending on the weather I usually finish the look with a lightweight trench or heavy aviator along with my daily rings and a statement earring. Pretty easy!

Wicker wonder

It's officially the summer and this time it isn't for two weeks! I had been prematurely rocking my wicker bag so much so it is now broken (I have a problem with overloading bags)

So this post is purely from the fact that I am now having to shop to replace my broken bag... Along with a few other things that match perfectly :)

At Home With Roxanne Campbell

Last weekend I had the pleasure of inviting the very own Roxanne Campbell into my home to experience her VIP nail treatment service

On a whole I was honoured to even meet her as these days we don’t even know the people behind beauty brands so the opportunity to meet... and obviously grill her was amazing!

As expected Roxanne was absolutely lovely and I could see straight away why she has worked with so many famous faces over the years. Backstage at fashion week, behind the scenes on red carpet looks and visiting the homes of the rich and famous. Her warm, down to earth and relaxed personality set me at ease and made me feel like I’d known her for years!

As she set up the foot bath, clean towels and unwrapped the new nail tools I looked over the collection picking out what new favourites I would be wearing through spring summer 2018

The collection sees a vibrant pallet that can be worn for different occasions from her vibrant ‘VIOLETS ARE BLUE’

to the ‘OFF TO JAMAICA ‘orange perfect for that summer getaway

I’ve had my nails done so many times... truly it would be silly to try and count, so It was interesting to see the difference between an average manicure and pedicure and the luxury VIP treatment the red carpet stars receive from Roxanne

First thing was prepping my nails and nail beds. Roxanne used oils to soothe and moisturise through out the wholleeee treatment. She buffed and filed my nails before applying the RC base coat, two layers of the RC  NUDE TIGHT. She then sealed the look with the glossy top coat.

Neat wouldn’t be the word...My nails have never looked so pristine! I couldn’t help but grin, but clearly knew that I could neverrr get close to the perfectly manicured nails I was gazing at.

Appointments and pricing for Roxanne’s private service is on a request bases

(FYI I booked a month in advance to receive the treatment so if you have a special occasion make sure to give her an email in advance)

Visit to shop the SS18 collection along with the full classic collection

and check out her latest nail venture on instagram @roxannecampbellUK

Button gang

Not sure what it is about this trend but I’m all for it and can see it in my wardrobe for many years to come as simplistic staples worked in with future outfits to come!

There are various button trends, however, I’m only interested in the simplistic chic look. Clean and sand washed silks, textured cottons and linens formed into feminine shapes with interesting pattern cutting techniques... I actually have seen some on-trend button garments that have exaggerated sleeves, rounded shoulders and flared wrist cuffs and even high waisted Bell bottoms (seen below, I may do a bell bottom post... what do you think?) which only adds to this beautiful trend

So here’s a round up my top picks for this key Spring Summer trend and basically a good insight into my wish list (as I love them allllll)

1. Staud  2. A Piedi  3. Topshop 4. Nanushka 5. Jason Wu 6. Karen Walker 7. Mango 8. Kenneth Jay Lane

Weekend home comforts

It really does comes down to the little things making your home the perfect relaxation space for those rare opportunities when you can forgot everything that is going on and relax in your own living space.

So I thought I'd share a few new homey highlights that have recently occupied my flat

Kinda of trendy in the florist world at the moment. Very simple, very elegant and the perfect green touch for those who like the minimalist look within their home. Regardless of whether it's one stem or a small bunch of eucalyptus this leaf is the easiest thing to look after (just change the water every three days) and looks fantastic in a half filled rounded vase or bowl of water or on the other side of the scale a tall round vase if you want to create height. Here's a link for some beautiful Eucalyptus that can be delivered to your door

I love my magazines and kinfolk is a favourite of mine! So many inspirational ideas for outfits, interiors and generally lovely imagery and interesting text. It also makes the perfect coffee table read for visitors.

This is one of my favourite candle company's as they last for a good few weeks and always smell fantastic from the first day to the last! So I treated myself to the Figuier at the start of the year however I haven't lit it until now. Its a new scent for me and funny enough it works well with the season we are now in as the aromas are ever so warm and summery with tones of fresh fig leaves and bark that really took me to a peaceful place!

I love a good Movie night and when I get the chance to put one on, Tarantino films are always a top pick for me. This weekend I dusted off Death proof opened a bottle of wine and made some quick mini canapés for my friends and I to enjoy

I'm not a big fan of white wine (more of a red girl) however i came across New Zealands The Yealands Sauvignon Blanc from there Estate Land Made Series during a wine tasting at work that I took a fancy to.

Tasting notes: Green light, crisp, and full of flavour

My friend popped over for a catch up in the week and It was the perfect option to compliment the spring sunshine and warmth outside in the garden
